Started by our dedicated and visionary leaders back in 2012, HMS Garden has grown into an impactful, learning community focused on food security and education.

We work to make a real change and positive impact on our school, community, and most importantly, our students. We see our campaigns as collective efforts and tools for connecting and building a stronger community for the people of Hastings through the garden.
Community

HMS Garden has built an environment of support and helpful resources to make sure that all members of the community can be a part of all that we do. Our success is driven by the hearts, minds, and souls of our community. Come and join us.

Students are the reason our garden exists. Our school, teachers, volunteers, and community members all believe in the power it has to make an impact on our student's lives. We are expanding the possibilities of education and providing opportunities for success.
Food Security
The Giving Table
The Giving Table is HMS Garden's answer to saving the community money, distributing HMS Garden produce, and offering local gardeners to share their excess produce. This will limit food waste, reduce food miles, and help others in Hastings become more food secure. We invite you to take produce you will use within two days and leave excess produce from your own garden.
Feel free to wander the garden for herbs and flowers. Garden volunteers will harvest garden produce when it is ripe and ready. Please do not harvest peppers, squash, onions, melons, etc. as they might not be ready.

Get Involved
There are many ways to take action as a member of HMS Garden, all of which are key elements to the success of our program.
Community Garden Night
Every Monday night from 5:30-7 PM, watch for any news updates in case we reschedule it for weather.
Volunteer to Water the Garden
We are always in need of volunteers, and there are many ways to be a part of what we do. Anyone and everyone is welcome! One way to help is to water the garden. If interested please contact us in the contact section below.
